European Commission Research - Summary of contextual overviews on children’s involvment in criminal judicial proceedings in the 28 Membre States of the European Union

Based on the European Commission research, this document summarise the implication of the children in the criminal procedures, in countries of the EU, and of their rights during the procedure. After a presentation of some statistics, the report shows general elements of a child-friendly justice in the criminal procedures, the nit shows the difference between a justice adapted to children before and after the procedure, and the justice adapted to the children after the procedure. The report ends with observations, whether the child is a victim the perpetrator or a witness.
