Children deprived of liberty in Central and Eastern Europe: between legacy and reform

This report establishes a summary of the rights of the children deprived of liberty in Central and Eastern Europe, and this especially in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Romania. The vulnerability of the children is such that it is essential to impose stricter requirements when it comes to detention conditions and their control. The current criterions on the evaluations of the quality of the juvenile detention centre is to weak and unacceptable from the point of view of the required levels of the international standards.
