A profile of child marriage in Africa

More than 700 million women have been married before the age of 18 in the world. 17 percent of those occurred in African where 125 million women have been married while they were minors. A third of them were under 15 year old. Even if the number of child marriage is slowly reducing, the increase of the minor population causes risk for many young girls to get married before they turn 18.
